The RASPBERRY MARTINI

Though simple, this is a really great cocktail. I take it up a notch by dipping the fresh raspberries in sugar and freezing them before hand. I also spear them onto martini picks so I don't have to wait to the end of the martini to eat them or dip my finger in to fish them out.

The PEACH MARTINI - Dedicated to a peach of a friend!

Today's martini is a rum based Peach Martini, you can make this with vodka too but the rum really is a more mellow base for the peach. Oh, and you can spice it up if you want and use Captain Morgan's Rum for a nice change. I found this makes it taste almost like a slice of peach pie!

This Peach Martini is dedicated to my friend and housing savior, Elizabeth aka Luv2Rite, writer and author extraordinaire! Liz, you are a peach of a friend and, man, can you write a boomer tale! I can't wait to read them all in your new book! (P.S. Brad - I'm trying to come up with a "manly" and creative martini for you! Maybe we can all test them out together!)

The POMEGRANATE LEMON DROP Martini

 

Pomegranates are just loaded with health benefits which will take a little of the guilt out of this sugar rimmed cocktail. It's okay to use natural sugar on the rim, or just leave it off if you wish, but remember that this is a tart martini and that sugar rim helps balance the bite of the citrus and the pomegranate so if you leave it off try adding some honey or an ounce of Pama Pomegranate Liquer.

ODE TO JIMMY BUFFETT MARTINI

Because every time I hear a Jimmy Buffett song all I can think of is rum, pineapple juice, coconut and tropical fruits.

Yes, I know. I should be thinking Margaritas and sometimes I do, but mostly all I can think about when I hear a Jimmy Buffett song is tropical beaches and tropical booze with mini umbrellas and lots of fruity garnishes.

DRUNK AT STARBUCKS MARTINI - A Coffee Martini

On Monday I posted my Cafe Au Lait Martini and also promised to post another caffeine loaded martini this last Wednesday. I didn't because I lost a friend the day before and was just not up to my regular Martini energy - even ones with caffeine. My apologies and I hope you understand.

Here it is a few days late, but better late than never, right? Enjoy the Drunk at Starbucks Martini, I hope it keeps you alert, but remember the caffeine is not a balance for alcohol in your system and please enjoy responsibly and do not drink and drive.

This martini is dedicated to my friend Joyce Mason of Hot Flashbacks, Cool Insights because Joyce has given me a much needed injection of energy these last few weeks and she's better than any caffeine laden martini for perking me up!
