JACK O'LANTERN MARTINI - Halloween Martini #10

is Halloween Cocktail #10 of 31 Monstrously Marvelous Martinis
from The Martini Diva

The Jack O'Lantern Martini is one of my most popular Halloween martinis. It's inspired by an Orange Julius which makes it creamy, sweet and tart at the same time.  The lovely pale orange color is perfect for Halloween and the Pumpkin Peep garnish is cute floating on top.

You can easily turn this one into a non-alcoholic Halloween cocktail simply by removing the liquor! Be sure you serve the alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks in a different colored glass to distinguish them - maybe martini glasses for the adults and regular Halloween tumblers for the kids?

THE GATES OF HELL MARTINI - Halloween Cocktail #9

The GATES OF HELL MARTINI

is Halloween Cocktail #9 of 31 Monstrously Marvelous Martinis
from The Martini Diva

Halloween cocktail #9 is the Gates of Hell Martini.
(The Devil made me do it!)

Hot as Hades from the hot chili peppers and pepper sauce, this evil martini will bring tears to your eyes - literally!  The Blavod black colored vodka deepens the Bloody Mary mix to a dark reddish orange and the hot peppers for garnish will bring forth a few Halloween howls from the unsuspecting.

You can cool down or amp up the heat by your personal choice of hot sauce and peppers.  To help you out in the pepper department, check out the heat levels of chili peppers on the Scoville Scale at Wikipedia.

DRACULA'S BLOODY MARTINI - Halloween Cocktail #8

is Halloween Cocktail #8 of 31 Monstrously Marvelous Martinis!

Halloween cocktail #8 is Dracula's Bloody Martini

This is a great Halloween cocktail for any blood sucking guests that suddenly appear on your doorstep looking for a little drink. Think of it as a Bloody Mary that
got bit by a vampire and now it's hot, spicy and everlastingly good. You can decide just how hot it is by the level of hot sauce you add to the mix!

HAPPY FLUFFERNUTTER DAY!

FLUFFERNUTTER MARTINI Cocktail Recipe

What's a Fluffernutter you ask? It's a sandwich made with peanut butter and some marshmallow fluff cream, usually spread between two slices of white bread.  It was quite a popular snack for children once upon a time, especially back in the East Coast and the Mid-West, and was even proposed as the Massachusetts state sandwich at one point.

I'm sure parents in this day and age are a bit horrified by the idea, but if you've never tried a Fluffernutter sandwich you're missing out on a really yummy snack.  I was addicted to them as a kid. (I would add pieces of Hershey's chocolate bar to mine.)

To bring this into the adult realm of happy hour, I've taken these two flavors and translated them into a cocktail that should bring back all those fluffy, nutty memories of childhood.  The melted marshmallow fluff with crushed peanut rim is the absolute perfect garnish/accent for this cocktail. It's messy, but fun.

FLUFFERNUTTER MARTINI with Ingredients and Instructions

The
FLUFFERNUTTER
MARTINI

Ingredients
1 Part Frangelico
1 Part Marshmallow Vodka

Garnish: 1/2 Cup Crushed Peanuts, Melted Marshmallow Fluff.

Tools: 2 Small plates, Cocktail Shaker

Glass: Cocktail, Martini or Coupe

Directions
Add the crushed peanuts to one plate and the marshmallow fluff to another. Nuke the marshmallow for about 10 seconds or so until it's liquid but not bubbling. (Be careful this is basically just hot sugar!)
Dip glass rim in fluff, then in the crushed peanuts, tap off excess and place glass in freezer to chill.
Add the ingredients to a cocktail shaker and shake until chilled.
Strain into the chilled glass and serve.

If you want to really get into the Fluffernutter experience, make up some of the Fluffernutter sandwiches to serve with the cocktail but grill them! You can cut these up into triangles and serve up with the drink.  Try adding bananas to the sandwiches or, like me, add a couple of squares of chocolate bar.

THE DEVIL'S IN THE DETAILS - Halloween Cocktail #7

is Halloween Cocktail #7 of 31 Monstrously Marvelous Martinis!

Halloween cocktail #7 is The Devil's in the Details Martini.  This is a cinnamon apple martini that gets it's devilish red color from the Red Hot candies you drop in as a garnish.  Appropriately the cinnamon flavor comes from a cinnamon liqueur called "Hot Damn" - how's that for a little bit of devilment?

The BRAIN PICKLE MARTINI - Halloween Cocktail #6

THE BRAIN PICKLE MARTINI
is Halloween Cocktail #6 of 31 Monstrously Marvelous Martinis!

Halloween cocktail #6 is The Brain Pickle Martini.  Yes, pickle. I don't know what you're cringing about, it's really pretty good if you like dill pickles or the dill herb. If you're a fan of Dirty Martinis which use olive juice as a mixer you might just enjoy this cocktail.  Besides, what could be spookier than a big slice of dill pickle garnish?

Drink too many and it's what happens to your brain as well. That spooky enough for ya?
