The RCH BTCH Martini - Raspberry and Orange Martini

Today's cocktail is a delicious raspberry and orange martini that will satisfy any high maintenance rich diva.

The RCH BTCH Martini is one of my stand by favorites. It was one of my very first designer martini recipes, I had one of these before I even tried an Apple Martini. I developed this before I had gotten my first order of edible gold or, trust me, I would included the gold flakes as garnish for this one, so feel free to bring it up with some edible gold.

I love the flavor combination of the Chambord (raspberry liqueur) and Grand Marnier but without the soda these two liqueurs and orange juice are a bit too sweet so don't forget it! I have been known to cut them with an ounce of raspberry vodka instead but only when I'm having one single martini - that addition really kicks up the danger level!

A GOLDEN CINNAMON APPLE MARTINI, The Millionaire Martini

It's summer and everyone else is doing it and so why can't I? What am I talking about? Repeats! Yes, I am going to re post the recipe cards from some of my very first martinis on this blog starting with this fun apple cinnamon martini that gets its bling from real gold!

The Millionaire Martini is a top request when I have guests and a favorite download here. I think people love the idea of the edible gold flakes that float in the Goldschlager and the extra ones in the rimmer. It's also a fun recipe card that everyone tells me people love when they do parties.

So, enjoy and throw yourself a Money Party - you can get fun money gear here to add some Pop to your Money Party:

Today's is the last Pink Martini for Think Pink and it's a classic - The Pink Squirrel Martini. Based on the classic Pink Squirrel Cocktail. The Creme de Noyaux is an almond flavored liqueur made from apricot pits very much like Amaretto so if you have a hard time finding the Noyaux you can try Amaretto but it's not the same pink color!!

Thanks for joining me for my Think Pink for the Cure campaign - but don't stop thinking or drinking pink - let's keep up the push to find a cure for breast cancer!

ANOTHER PINK DIVA MARTINI for Think Pink!

The Pink Diva Martini is really a pink version of a lemon drop martini - with the citrus vodka and the fresh lemon juice it's only pink because of the splash of grenadine.

There are so many recipe versions for Lemon Drop Martinis out there anyone can find a tart/sweet ratio to suit them! I have three posted myself so far: The Classic Lemon Drop Martini - The Cherry Lemon Drop Martini - The Pomegranate Lemon Drop Martini

PINK SLING-A-TINI - The Singapore Sling Goes Diva for Think Pink!

The Pink Sling-a-Tini is my take on the Singapore Sling that was created by Ngiam Tong Boon at the Long Bar of the Raffles Hotel in Singapore. Originally called the Straits Sling or possibly derived from it this was a popular drink during the 1920s and then again in the 1950s.

I believe the original recipe used Kirsch instead of the Cherry Heering and you can try this recipe both ways - I prefer the Cherry Heering myself.

This is a very sweet "girly" drink but don't be taken in by it's pink color and the sweetness - this one packs a serious punch!

BANANAS FOSTER MARTINI - Tribute to Brennan's Bananas Foster

This Bananas Foster Martini is my tribute to a great dining experience and to one of the best desserts I ever tasted - Bananas Foster, created and made famous by Brennan's of New Orleans. The cocktail recipe has the essence of the wonderful flavors of that inspired dessert, the caramel sauce drizzle brings in the caramelising of the bananas in the brown sugar, the cream hints at the ice cream, the rum of course is the rum flavor and the banana liqueur and banana garnish with a little sprinkle of cinnamon round out the famous dessert's flavors.

If you've ever had the privilege of visiting New Orleans, chances are you made sure to visit the world famous Brennan's Restaurant. I know I did, in fact I went twice on my first visit to NOLA. On my first day in this wonderful city I made a point to get my reservations in so I could sample their globally renowned food.

I was particularly looking forward to the Bananas Foster as it was created at Brennan's and is one of their signature dishes. This classic dessert from a classic restaurant did not disappoint and I soon hunted down their recipe and started making it at home.

Below is a little history on the creation of this dessert and the recipe directly from Brennan's Website for their famous Bananas Foster.

Bananas Foster dessert was created in 1951 by Chef Paul for Brennan's of New Orleans. This now famous dessert was created for a challenge by Owen Edward Brennan who wanted to promote imported bananas (New Orleans was a major port of entry for bananas in the fifties) and also as a recipe for a feature article on Brennan's in Holiday Magazine.

It was named for Richard Foster who was a favored customer of Brennan's as well as a personal friend to Owen.

According to the restaurant, thirty-five thousand pounds of bananas are flamed each year at Brennan's to create this world dessert for it's clientele.

Brennan's Recipe for it's famous
BANANAS FOSTER

Ingredients:
1/2 stick of butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup banana liqueur
4 bananas, cut in half lengthwise, then halved
1/4 cup dark rum
vanilla ice cream, (four scoops according to Brennan's.)

Directions:
Combine the butter, sugar, and cinnamon in a flambé pan or skillet.
Place the pan over low heat either on an alcohol burner or on top of the stove, and cook, stirring, until the sugar dissolves.
Stir in the banana liqueur, then place the bananas in the pan.
When the banana sections soften and begin to brown, carefully add the rum.
Continue to cook the sauce until the rum is hot, then tip the pan slightly to ignite the rum.
When the flames subside, lift the bananas out of the pan and place four pieces over each portion of ice cream.
Generously spoon warm sauce over the top of the ice cream and serve immediately.
