What do you do when you have a bunch of different veggies and not enough of them to make dinner? You make a cocktail!
Yes, you do see "Dill Pickle Vodka" in the recipe. Naked Jay was kind enough to send me a sample of their Big Dill Vodka, I couldn't wait to try it out and this martini was the perfect excuse!
I have a little story to tell about the Big Dill Vodka. It arrived here at 9 a.m. in the morning (along with a couple of small samples of their Whip Cream vodka). I was working away with that bottle sitting right next to my computer and kept staring at it. I have made and very much enjoyed my Pickle Martini using dill pickle juice and I was really curious to taste this dill pickle vodka. Finally, I just said to heck with it, early morning or not, and cracked that puppy open and took a swig! It tasted just like a garlicky dill pickle which means Naked Jay got the flavor right on! And, no, I did not have more than one swig....until happy hour.
It really was the perfect vodka to put a little extra zing in this cocktail - after all, the pickle had to be represented in a Kitchen Sink Martini, right?
