The PURPLE GHOST MARTINIis a really delicious raspberry vodka martini with tones of orange from the Cointreau and a good dose of anti-oxidants from the pomegranate juice. It has this really deep purple magenta color that looks great when you float a Ghost Peep on top.
I got extra peeps and dipped them in chocolate for my Halloween Buffet dessert bar - they go great with this martini too!
SOME LAST MINUTE HALLOWEEN PARTY IDEAS:
Don't have time to carve a pumpkin? No problem, grab a few black magic markers in various sizes and draw on a scary pumpkin face! Do a search online for pumpkin carving patterns.
You don't even have to put on a face! Simply grab a few pumpkins and some of the fun seasonal squashes in various colors at the grocery store and do a nice grouping with some candles.
You can make ghosts to hang around with plastic grocery bags. Cut your bags into different sized squares for different sized ghosts, put a wadded up paper towel or toilet paper in the center of the square, gather the bag around the paper stuffed "head" and tie it off with string or a rubber band. You can paint a spooky face on it with your black markers.
Grab a can or two of matte black spray paint (Walmart's brand is cheap and dries very quickly!) and spray a few branches from your trees and set them around various areas with Halloween Candles or those great new battery operated votive candles.
Dry ice is a great way to create atmosphere on your buffet and most grocery stores carry it. If you have a fog machine drag it out!
Party games are a great idea but if it's too late to pick up some of the cool Halloween party games try creating some of your own. I did a search for Free Halloween Games and found a ton of fun ideas.
TODAY'S HALLOWEEN PARTY FOOD: Crabby Dead Brain (5x3 recipe card at the The Diva of Tiny Foods):
The GATES OF HELL MARTINI is simply liquid heat. It's a Black Bloody Martini that's hotter than Hades thanks to the addition of chili peppers and pepper sauce. Just because you're shaking it up with ice doesn't mean it's not going to scorch you to Perdition! Only for the really devilish or the brave at heart! TODAY'S HALLOWEEN PARTY TIPS: LAST MINUTE HALLOWEEN PARTY IDEAS It's not too late to have a Halloween party. You can still have a fun get together with a little work, creativity and some cheating! You'll have to invite everyone by phone and don't be surprised if most have plans so be prepared to extend your guest list to people you might ordinarily not invite or just plan for a more intimate party.
FOR THE FOOD: Buy pre-made deli salads to make tea sandwiches, pre-made cupcakes and cookies at the bakery, pre-mixed dips and spreads and prepared deli plates of crudités, wings and meat platters.
You can still cut out the tea sandwich bread in fun Halloween shapes, decorate up the cookies and cupcakes for a personal touch and even add a little personal touch to the prepared dips and spreads. You can also call a caterer!
QUICK DECORATIONS can be purchased at your local super mart or party store. Several white sheets and a fog machine can lend a lot of atmosphere to a ghost theme. You can also just do orange and black colors. A little confetti sprinkled about always lends a festive air.
LAST MINUTE COSTUMES can be solved with a simple large cardboard box with holes cut out for the head, arms & legs, some paint, glue and some fabric scraps. Think giant popcorn box, aquarium, Rubik's cube, cell phone or framed work of art. The work of art would be easy - just buy a cheap poster of a famous work of art, glue it to the front of the box and paint the rest of the box like a frame! If you're really lazy or hate the idea of costumes, here's some cheezy but funny ideas fromHalloween.Com.
The NAKED SKULL MARTINIis a black martini! Yup, no food coloring involved because it's made with Blavod Black Vodka! How cool is that? It may look like the dead of night but it tastes like an orange thanks to the orange juice and the Blue Curacao.
I made my own Skull Martini Picks by pouring water into a Skull Sucker Mold. I shortened the lollipop stick after freezing by simply cutting off a bit with a hot knife blade! I made some in color too by adding food coloring. (Then I also used the mold for making some chocolate skull suckers.)
is a Smash, it is a Monster Mash-A-Tini created in honor of my favorite Halloween song - The Monster Mash by Bobby "Boris" Pickett and the Crypt Kickers. (Never heard it? Play it below!). Here is a mean green monster martini garnished with some scary gummy candies (the gummy eyeballs are the best!)
This is a blue-green martini using Midori Melon liquor and some Blue Curacao which will bring some great holiday color to your Halloween party table or bar and delight those spooks that have invaded your home for the 31st of October. It's a thirst quencher that will sooth those savage costumed beasts you invited!
might just be my favorite Halloween martini. It's an orange flavored (and colored) martini that tastes just like an Orange Julius for adults. This is probably one of the easiest to batch up for parties and it's one of the most popular Halloween martinis I've created. I always garnish this one with fun Pumpkin Peeps, they're miniature marshmallow Jack O'Lanterns that float on top of the martini. TODAY'S HALLOWEEN PARTY TIPDO A WHOLE JACK O'LANTERN THEME:
combines banana liquor and Blue Curacao for a truly unique taste and the fun of a black martini because of the Blavod black vodka. The best part is the gummi spider and snake (gummi worm) garnishes that crawl around inside and on the black sugared rim!
It's a festival of black and creepy crawly and the banana flavor is perfect for those guests who have the nerve to show up in a monkey costume.
THE DEVIL'S IN THE DETAILS MARTINIis a delicious cinnamon apple martini with a fun garnish of Red Hots candy that will create a nice sunset effect when dropped into your apple martini. Add a nice slice of red apple on the rim and you have a wonderful fall martini for your Halloween celebration.
Yup, it's a PICKLE MARTINI - a Brain Pickle Martini. And before you reject it out of hand think about it for a minute - do you like dill and do you like Dirty Martinis? If you do then you might just enjoy this unique martini for a change of pace. Come on, live dangerously and try one, but remember if you try too many you might just wake up and forget that you tried any!
The Brain Pickle Martini - perfect for anyone who's dressing up as a mad scientist for any Halloween party, and mix up two so you can share with Igor.
is not named idly - it will drain your brain if you don't drink wisely, and the drizzle of grenadine into the creamy martini really gives it a great ghoul factor. The white chocolate dipped peach slice garnish can be really grossed up if you want to spend the time - just dip it in the plain white chocolate then into some blood colored white chocolate and let that drip down the white for a bloody accent.
If that doesn't send your guests screaming for more they're zombies which means they've already had their brains drained! TODAY'S HALLOWEEN PARTY TIPS:
If you have the money for it and want to really impress your Halloween Party Guests, check out this Atomic Brain Decoration
Make some fun pink candy brains in Brains Candy Molds and drop one in each Brain Drain Martini!
The Berry Scary Martini is a really fruity, sweet martini with a deep purple color that is great for adding color to your Halloween cocktail party. This is actually a martini I do all year long because I love the berry/cherry flavors. This is a sweet martini with a whipped cream topping, which you can leave off if you like. If you don't feel free to sprinkle some Halloween Jimmies/Sprinkles on top - you could also use the same jimmies as a rimmer instead of the purple sugar. TODAY'S HALLOWEEN PARTY TIPS:
